Some legends never die... they wait.

The Curse of Moll Dyer

Inspired by the chilling Maryland legend that helped shape The Blair Witch Project, The Curse of Moll Dyer is a haunting folk horror film blending a 17th-century tale of persecution and witchcraft with a persistent modern-day curse.

In 1697, independent healer Moll Dyer flees to a remote Maryland settlement for a fresh start, only to face suspicion, violence, and a fiery mob that drives her into the freezing woods. Dying on a cursed rock, she utters a final curse that haunts the town for centuries.

In the present, grieving college student Morgan returns to her family's ancestral estate in Leonardtown, Maryland. Discovering an old 1980s camcorder, Morgan watches eerie found footage: teenager Rebecca touching the cursed stone and vanishing in terror. As Morgan digs deeper, Moll's visions invade her reality—she's stalked by supernatural forces and uncovers her grandparents’ hidden past.

Shot amid Southern Maryland's atmospheric landscapes with found-footage and folkloric terror, the film stars Jordan Hundley alongside Kathryn Kelley, Ron Bottitta, Evan Casey, Jeff Wincott, Lauren Zimmerman, Kevin Murray, Robert Brown, and Count Gore de Vol (Dick Dyszel), plus cameos from St. Mary’s County residents. The Curse of Moll Dyer reminds us: some legends never truly die.
